Don't Squeeze the Charmin... or Dan...

Published by Ryan at 10:12 PM
Chris and I are taking a turn writing the entry today because it is our last day with the group before we go our separate way back to Buenos Aires.

Today we went whitewater rafting down the Mendoza river. After arriving at the river edge, we went to change into our wet suits. While squeezing into our outfits in the women's room, Vicki and I heard loud laughter emanating from the men's side which was a result of all the guys seeing Dan for the first time in his slimming gear. Apparently they were all helping to stuff his bosoms into the top of his suit and zip him up.

We had to split up into 2 groups going on 2 different rafts. Dan and Chris were the only casualties who fell off the raft. With some assistance, they climbed back on and resumed their enthusiastic paddling. After rafting, Dan, Chris and I headed back to the city. Vicki and Matt opted for a horse back ride. Ryan and Mike did some rappelling that stretched out over the river. Yes, all of you that went on the Costa Rica trip, it did involve the awkward "superman" position! Except Ryan and his guide were face to face. We are including some pictures of it.

Really nice photo of Matt & Vicky on horses with the mountains in the background.

...extra information...they put me and Vicki on slow horses b/c we were beginners. Mine was always at the back of the pack and kept stopping and eating (as you can see in one of the pictures). He also kept rubbing my legs against bushes and grass (I think it was on purpose)...oh and my butt hurts today...Vicki thought it was user error and loved every minute of it.

Hi, everyone, this is Vicki. I'm writing to clarify the horseback riding experience-which Matt fails to tell you was lovely. My horse kept up nicely b/c I listened intently to the instructions and held my reins close. Matthew failed to do so and therefore had no control over his animal. He grumbled loudly the whole time he was near enough to be heard and was a source of constant amusement to me. His efforts were sweet, though, because he did it for me.

Looks like you are all having fun, sorry Matt but we are not going to get horses now that the barn is clean, however you can raft in the brook. Enjoy the view of the snow in the Mts, Killington opened 11/2!

Dan,Dan,Dan. I tried to warn you of the dangers of outdoor amusemnets. Nature is dangerous and not to be trusted. Your trip looks amazing. Thanks for a great blog everyone!!
